#5 Scallop Shell

Yeas ago, every pilgrm who walked and reached Santiago received a special manuscript and a scallop shell to hang on his back or hat. This symbol represented the changed life which he experienced as he walked on the Camino, and that he was now returning home as a different person. The shell, if you look at it from above, looks like a hand. This symbolizes the good works that Jesus did for humankind. Whoever wore the shell wanted to express publicly his desire to live by this lifestyle of serving and loving the rest of humanity.

What changes have you experienced on the Camino? What steps do you need to take to be a true pilgrim in life?

The changes I experienced on the Camino when I arrived home was initially vast.
